I got a call from an old friend Pratish Sanghvi. We used to be in the same school. He wanted my inputs for his startup grab-a-grub. So i met him in the evening at a nearby coffee shop.
It was an interesting conversation. He explained me how his model was currently an enterprise based model where his team tried to create a logistics network for helping small restaurants make home deliveries via a model like ola cabs for taxi. However he said that eventually he would like the model to develop into a direct consumer model where consumers can aggregate their orders via their interface.
My advice was that he should stick to the logistics model and try to build and become the user of hyper local logistics for restaurants and riders that would like to work as delivery boys.
